A special kind of wedding

It’s always lovely to welcome returning guests back to the camp.. especially when they bring such excitement as a wedding with them!
It was 15 years ago when Susie first came to Campo Cortez – with her came photos that she took of that trip, which were a delight for all to see, especially for Maldo and Catalina and their family, who marveled at how their little granddaughter, Katheryne, had grown, now 16.
Previous to her recent trip to the camp, Susie informed us that she is returning with her husband-to-be, Marty, and that she would love to have the wedding at the lagoon, here at Campo Cortez. Her next request was even more special – she asked Maldo if he could perform the wedding for them! Needless to say, Maldo was incredibly honoured to be asked and happily switched his usual Campo Cortez CEO attire for one of ordaining duties!
The day of matrimony came around, very fitting for Valentines Day, and everyone at the camp, including the other guests in the group, spruced up and readied themselves, and when the light from the sunset created it’s golden path across the rocky shoreline of the lagoon, we gathered there to witness and celebrate the union of Susie and Marty in marriage.
Walking out among the dusky stars that evening, it was hard not to carry the glow of the memorable occasion with us back to our cabins and campers. We look forward to perhaps celebrating the anniversary!…. And who knows, maybe even the next wedding here in Campo Cortez.
